Powerful magnets and fast electronics have made it possible to use MRI to image the moving heart. The use of Gadolinium as a contrast agent permits angiography of medium to large arteries without the risk of radiation or iodine containing dyes. CARI is proud to be the only Rhode Island facility that has a cardiac capable MRI scanner and a cardiologist credentialed in interpreting the studies.
