Christopher Abadi, MD, FACC

Christopher AbadiDr. Abadi is a diagnostic and invasive cardiologist with a special interest and focus in the diagnosis and treatment of Peripheral Vascular Disease. He graduated cum laude from Boston College and was elected to AOA Medical Honor Society at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. His medical residency and cardiology fellowship were completed at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. In addition to board certification in internal medicine and cardiology, Dr. Abadi has achieved recognition for Special Competency in Echocardiography and Transesophageal Echo and serves as the medical director of Newport Hospital’s Echocardiography Laboratory. Recently, he has provided leadership for the development of a vascular medicine clinic in our Providence location, offering consultation and on-site duplex ultrasound, CT and MR imaging of peripheral vascular disease patients from throughout Rhode Island.

Early in his career he identified an interest in noninvasive cardiovascular imaging and spent an extra year refining skills in cardiac ultrasound (ECHO) imaging at the New England Medical Center. After two years in practice through the Lahey Clinic, he joined Cardiovascular Associates of Rhode Island in 2003, where he divides his time between the Middletown/Newport and Providence offices. He is also an active participant in the Brown Doctoring program for medical students.

Dr. Abadi resides in Barrington with his wife and three young children. He enjoys sports such as golf and sailing with his family.
