Jennifer Jarbeau, MD, FACC

Jennifer JarbeauDr. Jennifer Jarbeau joined Cardiovascular Associates of Rhode Island in 2004 after completing her internal medicine residency and cardiovascular fellowship at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. During her cardiology training, she was chosen as the Chief Cardiology Fellow, and was active in many research projects, including finding new chemical markers to help risk stratify patients requiring non-cardiac surgery, and researching the mechanisms behind stent restenosis. Dr. Jarbeau completed medical school at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. She also graduated cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry.

Dr. Jarbeau is board certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, as well as Nuclear Cardiology. She is fully trained in Echocardiography, Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterizations, and Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Jarbeau is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a member of the American Heart Association and Rhode Island Medical Society. Currently, she has a special interest in Women’s Heart Health and is active in efforts to raise awareness of heart disease as the leading cause of death in women in the United States. Along with Dr. Heather Hurlburt, she will spearhead a Women’s Heart Initiative at CARI.

Dr. Jarbeau grew up in Rye Brook, NY, a suburb of New York City, where she was valedictorian of her high school class. She now resides in Rhode Island with her husband, two young children, and dog, Sadie. She is an avid runner, who enjoys spending time with her family and is active in her church and other projects within her community.
